AIMLArtificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
Python, data science, machine learning, deep learning and neural networks, computer vision, NLP, time series, Tableau and Power BI — ending in a final project.
Twelve-month programmes in AI & Machine Learning and in Robot Development & Automation — at our facility in Ibadan or online. For working professionals, undergraduates, fresh graduates and school leavers.
Two flagship tracks, each finishing with a real project you can show an employer. Take one, or both over 24 months.

RDAEmbedded systems, Arduino and Raspberry Pi, C++ and Python, IoT, ROS and SLAM, 3D design and computer vision — ending in a robot you build yourself.
Intensive programmes in AI & Machine Learning and in Robot Development & Automation, taught by experienced facilitators on an up-to-date curriculum.
No boring lectures. 70% of the curriculum is product development — you learn to solve real problems by building standard, sellable products.
Project management is included. At the end of the programme trainees are organised into start-up teams with shared business goals.
What trainees build and where they build it — robots, drones and real products, in our lab in Ibadan.

Short documentaries from our labs, classrooms and seminar hall. They play right here — nothing loads until you press play.
Start here — then explore the rest.
Days are packed: three hours of class, hours of practicals, project deadlines, Friday seminar presentations — and the occasional visiting VIP you'll explain your work to, and how it helps society. Few things prepare you for the future better.

Ridwan completed both full programmes — Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, then Robot Development & Automation — worked on more than four industry-standard projects and supported his colleagues on many more.
Desmond obtained a study visa to spend two years at RAIN on both full programmes, and showed uncommon creativity and problem-solving. RAIN welcomes international students — our student support team guides study-visa applications to Nigeria.

RAIN is a research and training facility for robotics and AI in Ibadan, with around 30 trainees in every cohort and a team of skilled developers and academics. Our graduates work around the world; some have used their RAIN certification to move into master's and PhD programmes in Europe and America.
RAIN was founded in 2020 by Dr Olusola Ayoola, who holds a PhD in robotics from the University of Manchester, where he built ground and underwater robots for the UK’s nuclear decommissioning programme. He teaches robotics and control to postgraduate students at the University of Ibadan.
He has led AI and robotics projects including a passenger scream-detection system for public buses, exoskeletons for upper-limb rehabilitation, carbon-emission tracker drones, a smart arm gyroscopic system for patients with Erb’s palsy and a smart drug dispenser for dementia patients. He has delivered keynotes including at ICARS 2023 in Abu Dhabi, works with the Nigerian Society of Engineers, and co-chaired AI Adoption and Sector Focus at Nigeria’s AI Strategy Workshop in 2024.
Our facilitators are foreign-trained, our curriculum is 70% product development, and every trainee leaves with a portfolio of things they built.

Cohort 21 starts in October 2026. You can still join an ongoing cohort until about halfway through, with catch-up classes.
Yes — virtual classes run when there are enough trainees, on a schedule agreed with your tutor. RDA is best done in Ibadan because of the hardware.
Yes. RAIN welcomes international students, and our student support team will guide your study-visa application.
No. The programmes take you from zero to confident in Python and C, computer vision, machine learning and neural networks. Short courses need a credit in O-Level Mathematics.
