RAIN now has a hyper-realistic virtual learning environment. You take your seat in a 360-degree classroom, with classmates beside and behind you and the teacher and board in front. Voices come from where people sit. Then you walk into the 3D lab to fly drones, drive robot cars and write code at the benches. Trainees can now join RAIN from any country, on a phone, a laptop or a VR headset.
The class is built around a 360-degree photo of a RAIN classroom. You have a seat; the people beside you are your classmates, with their faces live on their seats.
With headphones, the classmate on your left sounds on your left. Group discussion feels like a room, not a call.
The teacher shares a screen and writes on a separate board from a tablet or a second device. They can rearrange seats and bring anyone to the front to present.
Everyone has an avatar they design. Show your real face on it, let it copy your expressions and head movements without showing you, let it show only when you talk, or keep it still. Your avatar stays in your seat whether your camera is on or off.
Avatars turn their heads the way their owners look, on a laptop, a phone or a VR headset, so the teacher can see who is facing the front and ask the class to turn back.
When you share your screen, a laptop appears on your desk showing it, so the teacher and the class can lean in and help.
Walk up to the board, a classmate or the front, then back to your seat. Or stay seated and simply look round. On a phone you can even walk physically and the room moves with you.
It opens in the browser. No download. A VR headset makes it fully immersive, and a phone in a simple VR viewer works too.
Walk out of the classroom into a 3D lab with its own field, track and pool. Lab staff work at the benches and give tips as you pass.
Beginner mode with altitude hold, acro mode, first-person view and a gate course with best times. A real drone remote or a game controller plugged in by USB works.
Drive the car round the track, sail the boat round the buoys, dive the underwater robot and pick and place with the robot arm.
Every bench is a station: sit down and the RIDE lab for it opens, from Arduino and ESP32 to computer vision, machine learning and language models.
The teacher can run a demonstration everyone watches, hand control to a trainee, or let everyone practise freely. You can also practise alone, any time.
Daily classes and hands-on lab work in our compound, with rooms for trainees nearby.
The same curriculum, teachers and projects, live online from wherever you are.
Live classes in the 360-degree classroom and the 3D lab. The same fee as virtual, and the same certificate.
Train staff in AI and robotics in the virtual school, wherever they work. Talk to us about corporate training.
A class can walk through RAIN on one big screen with a group pass for the virtual excursion, from ₦5,000 an hour for one visitor.
The same labs trainees code in are open to anyone through the RIDE Lab.
A steady connection, like the one you use for video calls. On weaker connections, switch your camera off: you still see and hear the class, and the room and lab run on your device.
No. A phone or a laptop is enough. Headsets and phone VR viewers are optional extras.
Yes. Hyper-realistic virtual trainees follow the same curriculum, projects, examinations and certificate as every RAIN trainee.
Anyone, from any country, who is admitted to a RAIN programme. Admission is the normal RAIN process; you choose hyper-realistic virtual as your study mode.
